Job Description

Are you an experienced Support Worker/Senior with a passion to help & support staff achieve more, and supporting people with learning/physical disabilities achieve better lives Are you looking for your next step in the Management chainIf you meet the below criteria we want to hear from you:

  • 2 years experience as a Senior Support Worker or equivalent
  • A NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
  • A full UK Driving Licence
If so then our client has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join the team in Cambridge, overseeing a supported living service of one gentleman. The successful applicant will be person-centred, proactive and passionate about making a difference.The gentleman has complex epilepsy which can effect how he can spends his day. He is a cheerful bubbly person who loves his music, he is a DJ and works in a record shop. He loves being busy and active and having fun things to do. When he is well and healthyhe is up for shows, concerts, Golf, PS4 and sporting activities or just a chilled evening visiting the pub for dinner and a game of pool and darts.Benefits include:

  • Knowledge and experience of Epilepsy and seizures with the ability to manage these situations effectively, and in a calm manner
  • Experienced at supporting people who have learning and physical disabilities and have experience of Autism
  • Strong and effective communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience in working with Medications
  • Proactive, dynamic and adaptable
  • Person centred
  • Able to recognise that families have an important part in the person’s life and can engage with them effectively and efficiently, in a professional manner
  • Experienced at mentoring and supporting staff and leading a team positively and proactively
  • Driven, passionate and able to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings
  • Able to think outside the box
  • Able to undertake administration tasks in a timely and organised manner to a high standard
  • Confident in following support agreements, plans and policies at all times
  • Able to work as a team but also confident at lone working
  • Are a driver with a Manual Licence and your own car
  • If you have (or are working towards) a Diploma in Health and Social Care (Level 3, minimum) we would like to hear from you
