Job Title: Study Support AssistantLocation: CambridgeRate: £9.50 - £12Hours: Full-Time 37 Hrs (8:30am - 5pm)Duration: Temp - OngoingStart Date: ASAPOur REED Education Nottingham FE branch are always recruiting for an experienced Study Support Assistant to join their team in the Cambridge area.The primary purpose of this job role is to:Support students with learning needs to become empowered so that they can fully access the curriculum and successfully achieve their programme of study through their development of greater independence.The team provides high quality support to students with a range of learning needs, including Dyslexia, ADHD and mental health.The primary duties, tasks and responsibilities of this job role are to;1. Work in collaboration with the subject lecturing staff and assessors, under the direction of the class teacher, or their delegate, within a wide variety of learning environments and situations. Support students to access the curriculum both within and outsideof a classroom environment including: reading out of materials, note taking, word processing, using enabling technologies, definition of language and other meta-cognitive skills.2. Empower young people to achieve their personalised learning outcomes, including Education, Health and Care Plan outcomes and targets.3. Adaptation of class resources in order to ensure students are able to access learning materials, i.e. enlarging text, modifying carrier language, etc.4. Promote independence and empower students to make progress towards their achievement and champion learning support and inclusion.5. Provide support outside the formal classroom setting e.g. at breaks, Lunch, and on pre-arranged trips where needed and the delivery of study programmes off the college campus.6. Maintain records in accordance with the support guidelines relating to student attendance, target-setting and progression and ensure daily Pro-monitor records reflects the support provided.7. Attend and contribute effectively to team meetings and focus on learning support improvements.8. Support students with the delivery of core subjects and vocational sessions9. To work directly with young people to review their support needs, following the internal college processes.10. Undertake appropriate training and development as agreed with the Head of Key Stage 411. Assist colleagues to identify students support needs, e.g.: Expressing concerns over a students welfare (i.e. safeguarding concerns) Referring students to learner services, etc. Making recommendations for best ways in which to differentiate materials.12.
