Job Description

Strategy and Planning Operations ManagerCambridge (extensive remote working offered)£50,000 - £70,000One of Cambridges best employers have created this new role as Strategy & Planning Manager, reporting directly to the Head of Financed.You will form part of the Finance Management Team, taking responsibility for owning the companys strategy and planning process, including longer term planning and strategy reporting.Responsibilities will include:

  • Support the development of long-term organisational strategy by working cross-functionally, including with Executive Management, to structure problems, analyse opportunities, and develop solutions and actionable recommendations through a rigorous, data-drivenprocess.
  • Liaise between divisions to ensure divisional goals, processes and resources are aligned with company strategy and each other.
  • Ensure that progress is appropriately tracked against company top level strategies and that these are reported to the Board and Executive Management team in an appropriate manner.
  • Plan, implement and manage proposed recommendations and projects arising out of the strategy and planning process where appropriate.
  • Manage internal stakeholders, including the Executive Management team, ensuring timely and qualitative communication, facilitating workshops and strategy and planning sessions.
  • Act as key point of contact with Finance and the People Team to ensure that effective policies and processes are in place to establish sufficient flexible investment decisions whilst maintaining the appropriate levels of oversight and control.
  • Be responsible for the smooth day to day running of the companys S&P operations, including program management of the companys 5 year strategic plans and chairing S&P team meetings.
  • Align the S&P and budget timelines to ensure that the company plans are appropriately reflected in the Groups budget.
  • Be a proactive member of the Finance, Facilities and Legal 1st line management team, representing the S&P process and building relationships with stakeholders across the business.
  • Take on other roles and responsibilities that are consistent with this role and within your area of expertise.
Requirements:
  • Track record of successful operations programme management, including experience of long term strategy creation and short term planning, budgeting, financial modelling, process design and policy management.
  • Problem solver.

  • Comfortable presenting to and challenging senior stakeholders within the business, including C-Level.
  • Ability to understand commercial positioning of a business and provide support and critical analysis around strategic plans.
  • Action biased, with the ability to make judgements and decisions in complex and ambiguous situations.
  • Self-starter who enjoys working in a dynamic, collaborative, and innovative high-growth environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
