Staff Applications Engineer (GPU)Location: Taipei/HsinchuAbout the roleArms Partner Enablement Group provides applications engineering services to Arms IP licensees with the goal of enabling mutual success through securing volume shipment of SiliconChips. We are now seeking a highly motivated Applications Engineer to join our existing Graphics Processor Unit (GPU) IP Hardware support team. The role will be based in Taipei or Hsinchu, Taiwan.Key AccountabilitiesProvide in-depth technical hardware designsolutions to Arm GPU IP customers, and remotely diagnose complex technical problems.For high touch customer engagements, business trips with customers may be required.Occasionally present courses to customers as an ARM trainer, or help build training material,application notes and multimedia content for customer education purposes.The successful applicant will also be encouraged to spend some time each year updating their technical product knowledge at one of Arms IP design centres if the international travelis permitted and safe.Education & QualificationsBachelors degree in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering.Other engineering or science subject graduates would be considered if you have meaningful experience.ExperienceExperience or knowledge of FPGAor ASIC design, simulation and/or verification techniques, including RTL coding and simulation, in Verilog, System-Verilog or VHDLExperience in integrating CPU, GPU, Multimedia IPs or other SoC peripherals in siliconProfessional experience of customer andsales interactionProven experience of problem solving and debug skillsDesirableStrong understanding of microprocessors and a good understanding of the interaction between software and hardwareUnderstanding of FPGA or ASIC implementation flows (synthesis, scaninsertion, layout)C/C++, assembler coding or other programming skills.Knowledge of machine learning, GPU or graphics processing system is preferredPersonal RequirementsDecent experience in customer focus positions.Able to travel globally on a regular basis(approximately every 3 months).Desire and ability to work on problems quickly and Able to work in fast paced customer environments.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both colleagues and customers.Proactive in acquiring engineering or managementinput, either Arms or the customers, in order to solve issues in a timely and accurate manner.Enthusiastic and well driven. Able to schedule own workload, and plan tasksbased on both internal and customer requirements.Good interpersonal skills, and beworking within a multinational team; especially when under pressure.
