Job Description

We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the IT Development sector. We have an excellent opportunity for a Software Engineer (C++/C Embedded) who will be part of a team creating software applications to support a range of digital signagemedia players. The target architecture is a complex platform with a mix of open-source and proprietary components.Salary up to £200,000 for the ideal candidate + excellent benefits Fully remote (occasional travel to the Cambridge office)Software Engineers (C++/C Embedded) Core Duties

  • Take ownership of a problem and see it through to resolution, translating customer requirements into a complete implementation
  • Perform various tasks, from high level OO design to low-level device driver and kernel programming
  • Use Python and Javascript for testing and end-customer applications
  • Team workflow includes code review, continuous integration and automated testing
Software Engineers (C++/C Embedded) Key Skills
  • C++ (inc. contemporary standards)
  • HTML, JavaScript and related technology
  • Video encoding, decoding, and streaming
  • Networking
  • Embedded Linux, especially OpenEmbedded/Yocto
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles and practice
  • Experience of object-oriented programming
  • Knowledge of real-time engineering, performance optimisation, and thread-safe design
  • Hardware understanding is useful
Software Engineers (C++/C Embedded) Key Requirements
  • BA/BSc in a relevant discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Creative and innovative
  • Keen interest in new technology and continual professional development
