Software Developer Pharmaceutical, CambridgeI am working with a small pharmaceutical company in Cambridge who is looking for a Software Developer to join their bioinformatics team to support their research projects by designing and implementing web interfaces and tools to organise, integrate and visualisegenomics and other related datasets.The company are leaders in innovative drug discovery and development and has applied its platform to generate multiple new drug candidates that are progressing in clinical development. The company specialise in oncology and neurology and have successfully launchedtwo oncology drugs. Some of your key responsibilities include:* Developing high quality bioinformatics software to augment their bioinformatics capabilities and provide support the software platform* Design and develop user interfaces, including web tools, to display and explore large-scale genomics data* Work on projects with software developers, bioinformaticians, biologists and computational chemists* Develop bespoke software tools and methods based on feedback from in-house users* Deploy automated pipelines for bioinformatics analysesThe company is looking for someone with the following skills/qualifications:* BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field* Proven experience building software either for internal or external users* Familiarity of software engineering best-practice* Building APIs or analysis pipelines in Python* SQL databases such as Oracle* Someone who can work independently and is a self starter* Someone who has the ability to work in cross-functional scientific teamsThe company are offering a competitive salary and great benefits package.
