We are looking to recruit a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to work in our clients busy R&D Hardware department, working on a variety of projects. This role would suit a candidate who wants the challenge and interest of working with a variety of technologies and is happy to immerse themselves in technology areas that may be outside their previous experience i.e. a flexible approach is demanded. A commitment to producing right first time quality products is also essential.Work ProfileThe post is likely to involve undertaking a wide variety of tasks e.g.* Feasibility studies for new products* Circuit design* PCB layout* System integration type projects* Maintenance of existing product designs* EMC and Low Voltage product approvals* Production supportThe technologies involved are also varied and include general radiometric (infrared) system design, digital design including FPGAs/CPLDs (language VHDL or Verilog), DSP and microprocessors, precision and video rate analogue design, optoelectronics, small motor control, and power supply design. Experience with SoC solutions would be a bonus.In addition, the candidate is expected to be able to contribute significantly to project development, both as a lead technical role and as project manager. Our clients projects projects normally involve contributions from their mechanical, software and production engineers and the candidate must have the familiarity/experience with these to be effective in a multidisciplinary team.Academic QualificationsWe are looking for candidates with A level grades (A or B) plus a degree in Electronics or Physics (or the equivalent).Experience RequiredThe successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the technologies involved in their current experience. Other important qualities include a good academic background and the ability and enthusiasm to find out about, and work in, new areas.
