Job Description

Permanent, full time (35 hours / week) Office basedup to £33k depending on skills and experience.+Profit shareDo you love a busy logistics admin role Then, keep reading...As shipping coordinator for this medium sized Engineering company in Cambridge, you will:

  • Manage of international shipping export and imports to EU & R.O.W. including:
    • Coordinate scheduling with internal sales and manufacturing teams.
    • Book air and road shipments.
    • Produce and & maintain export & import documentation in line with HMRC terms & legislation.
    • Liaise with customer shipping staff/agents.
    • Collate and log IPR and deferment documentation & quarterly returns.
  • Manage UK same day and overnight couriers.
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing shipments.
    • Minimise delays associated with customs clearances and documentation.
  • Act as point of contact with shipping and transport agents, including:
    • Negotiation and monitoring of commercial terms.
    • Claims.
    • Account reconciliation and input to internal accounting software (Sage Line 50 Accounts).
There will also be elements of Sales supportIdeally, we are looking for:
  • Previous experience in Shipping or Import/Export Administration
  • Previous experience working in a busy, open-plan environment
  • Good organisation and planning skills.
  • Ability to deal with heavy workloads and time constraints.
  • Good telephone and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Proven experience of Sage Line 50 would be an advantage.
  • Flexible team player with a can-do attitude and ability to use own initiative is essential
  • Ability to learn procedures/processes quickly.
