Job Description

Field Service EngineerSalary: £35,000paBenefits: Enhanced holiday, pension, travelling costs & expenses coveredCompany Overview:A leading innovator in camera software and technology, our client is well-established in the design, development, manufacturing and worldwide installation of cutting-camera systems and software.With a global footprint in commercial systems, industrial applications, and security and surveillance, this company, based in Cambridgeshire operates all around the world, and now you have the chance to be a part of it.The company has a rich history since being formed over 35 years ago, consistently leading their industry with a diverse range of hardware and software solutions.ISO 9001:2015 certified, the company has been recognised with prestigious awards, including three Queens Awards for Enterprise and the Kings Award for Enterprise in 2023 for export excellence.The Role:In response to expansion and a constantly growing client base, they are now seeking an experienced Service Engineer to support and commission their products across all 6 inhabited continents.This role is suited for an individual with robust technical capabilities, adept at customer interactions, and possessing a detailed understanding of the companys products.Dont worry though, if youre not familiar with this industry - The successful candidate will undergo comprehensive product training.Candidate Profile:The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated technical expertise with electro-mechanical systems.
  • Strong logical fault diagnosis skills.
  • Report writing proficiency.
  • Desirable understanding of software applications; mandatory good general IT skills.
  • Customer-facing skills, with the ability to deliver operation and maintenance training.
Work Profile:
  • This role is centred around the companys core products which are installed and commissioned globally.
  • Key responsibilities include travel, often on short notice, for 1-2 weeks at a time (occasionally longer trips may be necessary)
  • Field-based activities, constituting approximately 25% of the role, involve commissioning and service.
  • The remaining time is spent in office-based tasks, including visits to customers for system commissioning, service activities, and training delivery.
  • The role demands organisation, resourcefulness, and flexibility, occasionally involving lone working with limited field and remote support.
  • Strong communication skills, a good telephone manner, fantastic personal & customer facing skills, and effective problem-solving are essential.
Role Requirements:
  • HNC or above in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical engineering preferred; experience in a similar role will be considered.
  • Previous experience in international servicing and commissioning activities, preferably in an industrial environment.
  • Be a British Citizen, or have the correct right to work in the UK without Sponsorship
  • Be able to pass a basic SC or DBS
  • Willingness to travel worldwide is essential, along with an in date British Passport
  • Comfortable with commissioning activities that may involve working at height.
