Job Description

Senior Tax Analyst - Direct Tax To be successful in the role you will have some experience working as a Tax Analyst, ideally with a focus on direct tax. You will have experience managing the process of estimating and paying CT prepayments, evaluating the best approach to both maximise cashflow and utilise discounts for prepaying tax. You will Independently interpret, draw conclusions, and make recommendations regarding the application of tax laws and new tax developments, particularly anti-tax avoidance legislation (such as ATAD and DAC6).The role:As Senior Tax Analyst, you will support the Corporation Tax ("CT") process for the EMEA region. You will Prepare and complete tax returns and reports, particularly CT as well as other taxes. Additionally, your role will Support the CT Manager when advisingand partnering with the business on CT impact and consequences.Responsibilities will include: Support the CT Manager who has overall responsibility for CT in the region both from a compliance and advisory perspective.Understand the structure of the business in the region and work with the Regional Tax Team to advise and educate commercial and support colleagues on CT matters.Accurately complete all aspects of the EMEA Corporation Tax returns for the entities in the region (approximately 20 but constantly increasing). This will be a mixture of in-house completion as well as working with outsourced providers.Support on monitoring and complying with transfer pricing regulation, including researching, and producing local files for EMEA entities, CbC notifications, and filing local versions of CbC master files as required.As part of the in-house UK CT compliance, support compilation of the RDEC, patent box, and share-based payment calculations.Responsible for the process of estimating and paying CT prepayments, evaluating the best approach to both maximise cash flow and utilise discounts for prepaying tax.Work with the EMEA Accounting team around local GAAP tax accounting, specifically including conversion from the US GAAP accounting used within the SAP system.Work with local tax advisers to understand the correct local tax treatment of global activity such as share-based payments, employee allowances, FX, and R&D activities.Support evaluation of ability and cost-effectiveness of bringing currently outsourced CT Compliance in-house.Support on monitoring potential PE risk as the business grows, advising and guiding the business through the process of expansion.Assist with any tax audits and respond to information requests and/or tax notices as they arise.In partnership with CT Manager interpret, draw conclusions, and make recommendations regarding application of tax laws and new tax developments, particularly anti-tax avoidance legislation (such as ATAD and DAC6).Interact with systems and other departments to ensure accurate reporting and documentation of tax positions, particularly fixed assets, and entertaining expenses.Assist with global supply chain, global tax, and global structuring projects.Provide support on EMEA CT expertise in any M&A activity in the region, including due diligence work and any post-acquisition impact.Assist with VAT and Employment tax compliance and queries as needed.Preferred Requirements:Experience with SAP (or equivalent ERP system) preferredGood experience of computation preparation; experience using software such as OneSource or Alphatax preferredExcellent attention to detail required.Strong knowledge of current CT laws; must maintain current knowledge of all tax laws affecting the company.Must be capable of analysing large quantities of data, particularly in SpreadsheetsExcellent written and oral communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required.Preferred Education/Experience:Bachelors degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or related field desired.
