If you want a job with purpose and an opportunityto work with some of the most talented software leaders in this industry, then theyd love to hear from you.Who they needThe organisation are looking for a Senior Developer to join their Software Team to contribute to the development and support of their bespoke, in-house software. You must be willing to learn fast and get involved in all aspects of what they do. They needsomeone who is comfortable working in an environment with a high degree of collaboration and transparency around work and progress and presenting work directly to users and the senior leadership team. You will also be working autonomously and will be takingwork from problem statement to solution to further develop and create a suite of tools designed to find, remove, and disrupt the availability of child sexual abuse material online. You’ll have the opportunity to enhance your software skills and work with someof the biggest names on the Internet.The role is home based with a few days spent in the office each month, which is a safe, supportive and friendly environment on the outskirts of Cambridge.Key ResponsibilitiesTogether with the Head of Software you’ll be working in the Software Team which manages all their bespoke, in-house software primarily responsible for:

  • Developing software, managing own backlogs, providing timescales for work, and independently problem solving to develop solutions.
  • Developing automated tests as required.
  • Investigating errors and bugs, acting as an escalation point for IT support staff and junior developers.
  • Participating actively in the team working practices such as code reviews, sprints, pair programming exercises etc.
  • Providing support and mentoring for the professional development of more junior staff.
  • Working together (pair programming, exercises etc.) to facilitate cross skilling of peers.
  • Carrying out general technical support work related to the bespoke software (e.g. extracting data for analysis).
  • Actively contributing ideas and experimenting with POC/R&D work to solve problems in novel areas using both established and emerging technology (approx. 20% of time on average would be expected to be spent on this).
  • Keeping assigned tickets up to date to ensure visibility and transparency of the work within the team.
