Job Description

Drug Discovery, Proteomics, Mechanisms of Disease Biology, Protein Degradation, Biochemistry Your new companyBuilt from one of the pioneers advancing a portfolio of drug discovery projects from early proof of protein degradation through to clinical studies, our client boasts an exciting pipeline of drug candidates, powered by transformational science to break throughtraditional degrader approaches, and bring life-changing medicines to patients.With their lead candidates currently designed to address treatment of diseases within oncology, following 2 upcoming major industrial collaborations, they are looking to diversify their approach and target a wide variety of diseases, going across immunology,inflammation, neurology, and other areas of high unmet medical need!Your new role

  • Working to strengthen the development of their proteomics capabilities, you will responsible for designing and developing robust proteomic assays, supporting degrader characterisation, target identification and mechanism-of-action studies.
  • For a variety of proteomic endpoints, you will be involved in biological sample prep from cells and tissues (e.g. pull-downs, co-IP), working closely with Bioinformatics group to build deep learning tools, as well as collaborating with the clients CROnetwork to advance proteomic research capabilities.
What youll need to succeed
  • You will hold a PhD (or equivalent research experience) in Biochemistry, Biology (or related discipline), including direct, hands-on proteomics experience in an industrial drug discovery environment.
  • You will have a practical understanding of a wide range of proteomic methods and technologies applied to a range of experimental systems/ biological targets (e.g. TMT, SILAC, ABPP, DIA/DDA, PTM analysis).
  • You will have experience in a variety of sample prep techniques (e.g. pulldowns, co-IP).
  • A good understanding of applied statistics, and some commercial awareness of the targeted protein degradation eco-sphere is an advantage.
