Job Description

  • Full right to work in the UK.
  • A science degree or equivalent
  • Experience in a drug discovery environment of managing and dispensing small molecules and biotherapeutics (Familiarity with biochemical, biophysical and cell assay technologies would be beneficial but not a requirement).
  • Expertise in liquid handling and automated dispensing, such as ECHO and Access platforms, LIMS, LC-MS, databases and screening data management software, such as Mosaic, Dotmatics and ActivityBase.

THE POSITION:
  • The successful applicant will have the opportunity to lead and influence the formation of the Sample Management Team. As a Senior/ Principle Scientist, you will have line management responsibilities of a small team to carry on multiple procedures acrossthe Drug Discovery sites, liaising with CROs to manage the storage and dispensing across the organisations libraries.
  • The right candidate will be required to possess broad experience in handling liquid samples and Liquid Automated Handling techniques such as ECHO, LIMS and LC-MS within a drug discovery setting.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain safe and effective working practices.
  • Troubleshoot any issues and respond to queries.
  • Manage performance and development of line reports.
  • Liaise with the CROs for the off-site storage of compound libraries.
  • Receive and solubilise new compounds, assess their purity by LC-MS.
  • Maintain Mosaic samples management system, driving improvement and adjustments where needed.
  • Prepare and supply assay ready plates with ECHO instrumentation and compound requests to support non-routine activities on all active projects.
