Job Description

Biophysical Characterisation, NMR, SPR, Mass Spectrometry, Global Pharma, 12 Month Contract Your new companyMy client is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies globally and have an exciting 2025 vision to bring multiple new treatment paradigms to patients. This is a thrilling lab-based Senior Scientist opportunity to work alongside some of the most revered scientistsin their field whilst contributing to advancing medicines that have incredible potential. This company will give you invaluable experience and help advance your career very quickly. This is an ideal opportunity for a PhD level scientist, with 4+ years experience, to make a key contribution to developing the companys discovery platform and gain experience in biophysical methods and drug discovery.Your new role

  • Collaborate with biochemical and cellular assay development scientists, protein scientists, structural biologists and chemists to create new E3 ligase ligands and protac molecules
  • Provide quantitative biophysical data on protein-ligand binding including affinity, kinetic and stoichiometric data to inform chemistry design and mechanistic understanding
  • Develop and run fragment screens providing high quality data to inform design of reversible and covalent leads
  • Validate and characterise hits from various screens (HTS, DNA-encoded library, virtual)
  • Learn and deploy new biophysical methods
  • Achieve personal scientific visibility through project contributions and internal presentations
What youll need to succeed
  • PhD in biophysics or another relevant discipline
  • Experience in biophysical characterisation of molecular interactions and mechanistic insights, using methods such as SPR, NMR, ITC, DSF, fluorescence-based, mass spectrometry and single-molecule methods.
  • A track record of peer-reviewed publications or patents.
Desirable:
  • Experience in drug discovery, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
