Job Description

Antibody Discovery, Protein Expression, Flow Cytometry, Immunology, Drug Discovery, Display Technologies, VHH Your new companyAs a leading innovator in therapeutic antibody development, our client is driven to exploit their novel display technology platform, which compliments their fully synthetic VHH single domain antibody library, to enable the discovery of antibody drugs to addresssignificant unmet medical needs.Having constantly expanded its scope of activities, and partnerships with biotechs and biopharmas over the last few years to support VHH discovery, this client is rapidly enabling the advancement of next generation antibodies, and antibody-based therapeuticsthrough technical innovation!Your new role

  • As a key member of this growing team, you will be accountable for designing and leading projects for the engineering and development of single, and multi-specific VHH antibodies, helping transform lead molecules into potential therapeutics.
  • You will be a key influence in the team, demonstrating skill and expertise across different projects, conducting rigorous scientific experimental design, execution and interpretation of data.
What youll need to succeed
  • You will hold a PhD (or equivalent) in Protein Engineering, Biochemistry, Cell Biology (or a related discipline), plus proven post-doctorate research experience in antibody engineering, ensuring high quality of resulting molecules.
  • You will have a strong understanding of the multi-specific antibody discovery industry, with sound knowledge of new developments in this area.
  • You will have experience with antibody binding assays (ELISA, Alphascreen/HTRF), and executing flow cytometry cell-binding experiments.
  • You will have experience using automated systems (e.g. AKTA) for protein expression and purification from mammalian/bacteria cell cultures, followed by utilising various data analysis tools (e.g. SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, SEC, UV/Vis).
  • Experience with display technologies, VHH antibodies and lab automation/robotics will be an advantage.
