As the Senior Principal Engineer for this global Semiconductor Technology giant, you will be leading a team of GPU Architects & Engineers focused on investigating and prototyping innovative new hardware & software technology for the Graphics and GPU’s of the future.The role is based in Cambridge but for those Candidates living further afield, remote working is an option for the right individual.A hands-on role, the Senior Principal Engineer will drive GPU architecture design & development, utilising your strong GPU Hardware & Software skills. If you have the ability to think creatively, combined with the experience of developing Graphics & GPU technologies, this role will ignite your passion for the possible, ensuring your team bring concepts into reality and allowing the business to keep redefining state-of-the-art.Acting as Technical Lead where your ideas matter and you can deliver industry leading GPU IP, the Senior Principal Engineer role enjoys a diverse range of responsibilities including building the GPU roadmap, Architecture, Prototyping & Experimental Investigations, Technology Research, working with the Product team, being part of Partner & Key Customer engagements and of course, collaborating with Engineering to transform your work into products.Together with your Team:Design & develop the Graphics architecture for the latest graphics API’s, developing technologies for products in both new & existing markets.Develop and improve the tools for architectural exploration and performance analysis.Deliver high-level performance modelling and analysis of Graphics Hardware Features, Applications, Games & Benchmarks.Analyse and understand system level architectural exploration and performance analysis.Skills & Experience: - A strong history of thinking creatively and communicating effectively in a global team environment, with a practical, organised and analytical approach to work.- Strong and deep experience in Computer Graphics and GPU architecture- Prototyping of GPU Hardware.- The ability to quantify and make trade-offs between power, performance and area to meet the requirements of the product.- Good programming skills in C, C++, scripting.- Good knowledge of graphics and computer API’s (OpenGL, OpenCL, DX, Vulkan, Ray Tracing etc.).- Self-motivated and ambitious, with the ability to work as part of a team and to network across teams.Useful skills & experience- A repeated experience of driving architecture development- Previous experience may have involved performance modelling micro-architecture- Previous roles may have included experience of RTL design for GPUs, CPUs or DSPInterested Candidates should apply now and can expect initial feedback on their application within 72 hours.
