Job Description

Senior IT Systems Engineer Cambridge£35,000 - £37,500This role requires a strong technical breadth and depth of knowledge to take a lead role in designing, implementing, and maintaining IT key infrastructure and systems across the organisation. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • System owner infrastructure and systems including, but not limited to: Network (physical and logical including VPN) O365 cloud and hybrid environments Managed wired and wireless networks Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory technologies Storage (Direct attached, NAS, and SAN) Microsoft server and desktop operating systems Linux operating systems (e.g. Ubuntu, Debian) Line of business applications (e.g. Office 365) Virtualisation infrastructure
  • Meeting Cyber security baselines, security patching and mitigation deployment and cyber incident response
  • Disaster Recovery, backup, and business continuity monitoring, planning and testing
  • Infrastructure monitoring for performance and capacity assessment
  • Responsible for strategic projects and manage operational projects
  • Document all support requests and resolutions, maintain consistent communication with customers and ensure knowledgebase is current and relevant
  • Provision of a best efforts out of office hours support subject to an on-call rota
  • Ensure best practices and industry standards are adhered to including configuration, information security, data protection, and data integrity issues
