Job title: Senior IT Security Engineer Location: Cambridge Salary: Circa £60,000 p/a Type: Permanent We are pleased to be working alongside one of Cambridges leading technology businesses and assisting their search for a Senior IT Security Engineer. The Senior IT Security Engineer will take ownership of security tasks, drive best practice in all things IT security, implement security tools and contribute to enhancing policies and processes.Senior IT Security Engineer - Technical Skills, Experience, and Attributes Required: - Strong infrastructure experience (Windows and Linux systems administration) with a natural progression into the security field. Experience of Windows and Linux ACL, OS level security protection and protocols (TCP, HTTPS, IPMI, DHCP etc.)- Experience of securing networks, systems and/or application architectures- Strong technical knowledge/experience of implementing cloud security measures (ideally AWS)- Strong technical knowledge across some of the following areas; networks, firewalls, storage, virtualization, SaaS, IaaS.- Knowledge of some of the following; SIEM, IAM, APT, DLP, Vulnerability Analysis and mitigation- Knowledge of analytic systems and tools (Elastic stack, Splunk, LogRhythm)Senior IT Security Engineer - Duties and Responsibilities: - Develop network security posture to detect and protect against potential attacks- Test and evaluate new security tools and products to contribute towards systems upgrades and enhancements- Ensure standards and best practices are adhered to at all times- Monitor systems for attacks or unauthorised activity, identify potential weaknesses and implement appropriate measures- Engage in Red TEam Exercises- Contribute to development of information security policy, standards, and guidelines.A full list of duties and responsibilities can be provided on application.
