Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer£40,000 - £50,000 per annumCambridgePermanentI’m recruiting on behalf of a prestigious organisation in Cambridge who are looking for a Windows Server/Domain expert - someone who can come in and look at the existing domain and lead on refreshing things from a process/policy/user profile management perspective. They would be a "subject matter expert" on all things Windows Server/Domain including how best to handle users/profiles better in a hybrid remote/hotdesking environment. The role needs some specific on other Microsoft skills too: MS SQL Server (not a DBA, but someone technical who can manage existing and set up new SQL Server estates, particularly experience with Always On Availability Groups), and also some RDS admin. experience. They should also ideally have prior experience with a VDI system such as VMWare Horizon View - since another part of the job is to lead development of a new secure "safe haven" computing environment for handling patient data.Along with this, from an infrastructure perspective Id expect strong underlying VMWare ESXi/vCenter skills along with experience of enterprise server hardware (we use Dell or Cisco primarily). Cisco networking/IOS too, is a bonus.
