Senior IT Infrastructure Lead - £48-50K - CambridgeMy client is recruiting for a Senior IT Infrastructure Lead on an 2 yrs FTC.Key Responsibilities:Be the lead architect / subject matter expert for IT infrastructure:*Implement current best practice in network architecture *Design appropriate resilience and fault tolerance into infrastructure design *Ensure security / governance is factored in at the design stage *Evaluate, based on extant priorities and constraints, the optimal mix of on-premise v cloud infrastructureOversee multiple infrastructure projects, reporting to various stakeholders: *Capturing business requirements and translating to technical specification *Scheduling and resourcing with other members of the wider IT team and 3rd party providers *Where appropriate, recommending and sourcing 3rd party expertise Creation and maintenance of IT infrastructure for the HDR UK-funded Gut Reaction project: *Using On-Premise, Open-Source & Microsoft Azure software tooling *Working with external researchers to deliver scientific computing *Making ongoing environment-specific optimisations to setup as project evolves and growsMaintain, develop and integrate on-premise (3rd party hosted) infrastructure in a scalable and secure fashion *Architecting and build *Configure On-premise AD to Azure AD according to current best practice *Deliver a robust single sign on (SSO) system to cloud / on-premise applications based on Azure AD and Conditional AccessDesigning and building infrastructure that meets the most rigorous information security / governance standards *Working with colleagues to meet Cyber Essentials Plus attestation Q2 2022 *Ensure Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery plans are realistic and tested *Configure and test appropriate mechanisms for backup / archiving of digital data *Advise on how best practice and technical security are implemented in our environmentKey Skills:*Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server platform *Network infrastructure i.e. DNS, DHCP, Subnets / vLANs *SAML/SCIM & OAuth and knowing when each is used *Understanding, testing and working with APIs *MS Active Directory / Azure Active Directory *Email transport methods incl.
