Job Description

Senior Engineering Project Manager Spider Recruitment Services, the specialist recruitment division of Spider are currently working with a leading international company that specialises in the development, production and marketing of yeasts and bacteria. They are now looking for a Senior Engineering Project Manager to join their experienced Management team.The purpose of this key role within the company is to manage the engineering project work for their 24/7 food manufacturing facility. The Senior Engineering Project Manager has responsibility for the design, build, plan and execution of all engineering projects.Background Keywords: Food/Beverage/FMCG/Ingredients/Grain/Malt/Hops/Yeast/Brewery/Beer/Grain/Seeds/DairyKey responsibilities

  • Develop a 3-5-year asset management program based on the strategic direction for the site, plant reliability data and opportunities for improvement
  • Make structured and costed recommendations for implementation of this strategy through various routes including suitable maintenance programs and capital investment
  • Implement appropriate mechanisms of control on projects expenditure and ensures that projects are delivered in spec. on time and on budget
  • Liaise with Production and Maintenance teams to understand forthcoming permitted activities and isolations are necessary for the undertaking of project work, to the required safety standards
  • Lead improvements in factory processes using appropriate improvement techniques e.g., root cause analysis, downtime analysis, OEE analysis
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for appropriate tasks
  • Appoints, leads and actively manages/supervises contract personnel on site, including safety supervision
  • Ensures compliance to the appropriate safety and food standards throughout project timeline
    • Essential skills
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning principles, approaches and continuous improvement awareness
  • Leadership experience of significant size project/engineering/maintenance team
  • Ability to manage complex dependencies and issues, and present recommendations and options to meet business needs
  • Effective communication, influencing skills, determined and resilient
  • Results focused “can do” attitude and a self-starter – ability to work off own initiative
  • Numerate – comfortable with maths & statistics
    • Desirable skills
  • Engineering degree & knowledge of Electrical and Control systems and Project management certification (e.g., Association for Project Management)
  • 5 years + in Food manufacturing and related technology knowledge (Food, Dairy and/or similar industry)
  • NEBOSH or IOSH safety certificate and knowledgeable of safety, quality, and environmental processes
    • The Senior Engineering Project Manager role is full-time, permanently employed role and your core working hours will be 9am – 5.15pm Monday to Friday. On offer to the successful candidate is a salary range of £50,000 - £65,000 dependent on experience and expertise.
