DESCRIPTIONAn exciting opportunity for a Senior DevOps Engineer contractor has arisen with one of our clients based in Cambridge. They are at the forefront of combining software and science for software healthcare products. They are looking for someone with a growth mindset, problem solving ability and curiosity.RESPONSIBILITIES- Help refine the detailed design of the AWS architecture- Help design and implement the processes and procedures around managing the AWS environments- Build the infrastructure using infrastructure automation tools- Help write and execute test plans for the infrastructure- Share your knowledge with the team on AWS and other technologies- Research and learn new technologies as requiredREQUIRED EXPERIENCEEssential:- Extensive commercial experience of building resilient and secure infrastructures in AWS- Excellent experience of Terraform and infrastructure automation tools- Experience with most of the following AWS technologies: IAM, CloudFront, ACM, EKS, Fargate, ECR, S3, EFS, DocumentDB, VPC networking (ALBs, NACLs and Security Groups, routing, VPNs, Peering, Gateways, etc.), API Gateway, Lambda, WAF, Shield, CloudWatch- Experience of using an Agile methodology and in working sprints/iterations- Good knowledge of CI/CD tools and technologies- A desire to work in an inclusive environment where everyone feeds into continuous improvement and where all team members share knowledge to nurture the team’s overall skill base- A proven history of being an excellent team player and care deeply about the commitments your team collaboratively makes- A strong academic record, educated to degree level or holding equivalent relevant professional experienceDesirable:- Experience of working under a formal quality management system, and knowledge of GDPR, HIPAA and data privacy- Expertise in data warehousing technologies (Redshift, etc.), and streaming technologies such as Kinesis- Experience of identity management solutions such as Active Directory and Cognito- Back-end development experience (NodeJS and/or JVM)
