Job Description

SENIOR CLINICAL PRACTITIONER - £31,224 - £33,035(depending on relevant qualifications, skills and experience)CAMBRIDGEFULL-TIME (40 HOUR WEEK)An outstanding residential community, set in a quiet location, near Cambridge, for up to 16 vulnerable teenage males. Each Resident follows a programme of integrated care, therapy and education.You will work closely with the Clinical Director to ensure that a high quality service continues to be delivered.You will have a passion for working with young people and will have knowledge of delivering services for those who have experienced trauma and have a history of harmful sexual behaviour.The successful candidate must be willing to undertake the CACHE Level 5 Leadership and Management Residential Childcare qualification.Due to the nature of this role, some lone working with Residents is required, therefore, an enhanced DBS is required.Free meals will be provided whilst on duty.Essential:

  • A minimum of 2 years post qualification e.g. RMN/RMNH;BA SW/CQSW or relevant therapeutic qualification/academic qualification to degree level or beyond.
  • A current driving licence is essential due to the position being in a rural location
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to liaise and negotiate sensitively, tactfully and diplomatically at all levels.
  • An ability to be creative and adaptable to meet the needs of the Residents.
  • Able to work flexible hours
  • Must work well in a team and have a flexible attitude.
  • Due to the nature of our client group and Children’s Home Regulations, we are unable to accept applications from candidates under the age of 25.
  • Desirable:
  • Group work experience in a forensic specific group.
  • Experience of working therapeutically with offenders in a treatment setting.
  • Residential Experience.
  • Experience of working with adolescents.
  • Main Responsibilities:Clinical:1. To co-facilitate small groups working with residents in the treatment Programme2. To provide supervision for members of the Clinical Team3. To provide individual sessions with allocated residents4. To submit high quality written reports, including assessment reports, review reports and risk assessment reports.Learning and Development:5. Take responsibility for keeping up-to-date with relevant training and development opportunities to support the post.6. To attend training courses as agreed with, or determined by the Assistant Director.7. To attend workshops and seminars which will increase knowledge and expertise in order to maintain a high standard of service to residents and support to colleagues.8. With agreement of the Assistant Director to hold appropriate membership of external professional bodies.9. Ability to gather information and to analyse that information and feedback to the community.
