Job Description

A well-known technology manufacturing business based in Cambridge are looking for a Global Senior Category Manager - IT Managed services, to join the team on a permanent basis.Experience with the IT Services category is essential, in particular implementing and leading global outsourcing arrangements.The team work 1 day a week on site all together and 4 days from home.Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead assigned categories in all geographies globally.
  • Develop and implement category strategies and category plans which are aligned to strategy, plans and priorities.
  • For assigned categories, the category strategy and plan will identify opportunities for improvements in cost, quality, service, and innovation including in-life contract opportunities.
  • Ensure that you maintain and develop knowledge of the markets and supply chain.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with your customers.
  • Engage Stakeholders and teams globally, regarding sourcing initiatives identified
  • Utilise Ariba to support the delivery of the category plans, including RFxs and contract management
  • Ensure that key contracts are being managed effectively, that all approvals and signatures are in line with company policy and the renewals are handled proactively
Skills And Experience:
  • Hold MCIPS or working towards (desirable)
  • Expert in crafting category strategies and plans
  • Experience of the IT Services category and in particular implementing and leading global outsourcing arrangements
  • Excellent understanding of procurement lifecycle concepts and procedures
  • Proficient Ariba User (desireable)
  • Outstanding communication and influencing at all levels both internally and externally
  • Excellent analytical skills - ability to source data, analyse and draw conclusions
  • Excellent reporting and presentation experience
  • Project and Programme management experience - sourcing/category projects
