We are looking to recruit a Senior Bioinformatician to work on a variety of projects with Scientists across a drug discovery organisation. You will also have the opportunity to devise your own projects and influence the development of the companys technology strategy moving forwards. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and Scientific advances and will enjoy working in cross-functional teams.Requirements·PhD or equivalent experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or similar discipline·Experience with and understanding of tools used for NGS data analysis·Strong track-record of scientific achievement·Experience within the biotech industry ·Ability to contribute independently and collaboratively and to excel in a fast-paced environment·Proficiency in the use of Python or R (or, ideally both)·Proficiency in the use of Linux and bash scripting·Proficiency in the use of relational databases and SQLRole:Contributing to the development of our software - developing early stage proof of concept data analysis and visualisation techniques.·Analysing complex datasets from a range of technologies and sample types ·Developing and deploying software and analysis tools for internal use - facilitating scientists to get better therapies to the patient, faster.·Data curation and management·Supporting patent filings - working closely with our Intellectual Property team and developing a deep knowledge of the technologies and commercial IP landscape.·Teaching and mentoring colleagues to use new Bioinformatics and Data Science tools to accelerate their research.·Presenting results at internal and external company meetings Required skills
