Job Description

Job Title: Senior Analytical Chemist (Permanent)Location: South Cambridge (easily commutable from Babraham and Duxford.)Salary: £32k - £38k p/annum with an excellent benefits packageReed Scientific are recruiting for a curious Analytical Chemist who wants to be part of an innovative team who are developing sustainable product solutions.Responsibilities in the role include:

  • Operating GC-MSinstrumentation with TD and headspace capability.
  • Carry out method development, maintenance andtroubleshooting of analytical instrumentation.
  • Work in a cross functional team to design, manage and conduct experiments.
  • Prepare and present research reports tointernal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the development of products from concept to scale-up by demonstrating performance through material testing.
  • Train and mentortheR&D team members to bolsterteam knowledge.
In time there will be opportunities to:
  • Support R&D in the formulation and development of products, and validation of product benefits and claim substantiation.
  • Identification ofIP opportunities and the preparation ofpatent documents.
Qualifications, skills and experience required
  • A degree in Chemistry or a related disciplineis essential
  • Practical experience of GC-MS instrumentationis essential.
  • Experience of thermal desorption and headspacewould be an advantage.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with attention to detail is essential.
