Job Description

Job Title: Senior Analytical ChemistLocation:CambridgeSalary:£25,000 - £27,000p/annum plus benefitsHours:Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per weekReed Scientific are recruiting for a Senior Analytical Chemistfor our client who are a UKAS accredited laboratory in the Food Testing industry. If youve had previous experience working in a commercial laboratory as an Analyst, this role would be idealfor you.Main Purpose of Role

  • To determine trace levels of man-made and naturally occurring contaminants in food.Analyse and record analytical data, to enable issuance to clients via LIMs reporting.
  • Maintenance and operation of instrumentation to enable high standards of analytical performance.
  • Perform sampling and analysis
  • Adhere to documented laboratory procedures and record raw analytical data for approval prior to issuance to clients via LIMS reporting.
  • Deliver consistently high standards of analytical performance ensuring the laboratory operates to the defined requirements of ISO 17025 (accredited by UKAS).
  • Oversee and mentor junior analysts
Qualifications, Skills & Experience requiredEssential
  • Degree level in chemistry or related science based subject or equivalent.
  • Must be computer literate in use of MS Packages.
  • Experienceof GC-MS and/or LC-MS techniques
  • Effective interpersonal, teamworking and time management skills.
  • Experience of working within a UKAS accredited laboratory.
