Job Description

SEN Class TeacherThis innovative setting based in Cambridge takes a fresh perspective and takes the best most effective parts from mainstream and SEN environments and puts them together to ensure these young people can achieve in GCSE and/or Vocational paths whilst alsogaining key life skills.A fantastic opportunity to be part of something at the very beginning and help shape this amazing space into an ideal haven for young adults to thrive and succeed.The Role - Class Teacher SENAs a Class Teacher you will be instrumental in delivering focused, high quality, engaging and tailored education as well as individual sensory experiences to small classrooms of students aged between 11-16 with ASD and SEMH helping them to achieve in allaspects of learning and life skills.You will set out, plan and give lessons following the curriculum that help students with their individual progression. You will help and give guidance to classroom support and be involved in their professional development. You will work collaboratively withstaff, parents, carers and external agencies providing for the academic, spiritual, moral, social, emotional and cultural well-being of students and their families.About youYou will be (QTS) Qualified teacher with demonstrated experience within an SEN setting or mainstream school with dedicated SEN

  • Qualified Teacher status (QTS)
  • Complete understanding and knowledge of the curriculum and be able to adapt this for students with SEN
  • Be up to date with Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to learning.
  • Be able to engage and intrigue reluctant learners
  • Experienced in late KS2, and/or KS3 - KS5
  • Be a confident and approachable
  • Have a real passion for teaching.
  • Be creative in how you deliver your class
  • Able to set out student goals that are clear and attainable.
  • Be able to establish quick rapport and build strong relationships both internally with staff and pupils as well external agencies.
  • A high level of professional discretion and a high standard of both verbal and written communication.
  • A genuine desire to involve yourself fully in the life of this school and to work as part of our forward-thinking team of professionals.
