Job Description

Scientist Pharmaceutical SciencesCambridgeContract until the end of 202218- 21 per hourAre you an experienced Scientist who is looking to be involved in developing potentially life changing medicinesCpl Life Sciences have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Scientist to join one of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies whos focus is developing and discovering life changing medicines to improve the lives of patients globally. The main purpose ofthe Scientist is to be directly involved in the discovery and development of molecule candidate drugs.Key Responsibilities;

  • Chemical and physical characterisation of NCEs, primarily small molecules
  • Formulate NCEs using standard and enabling formulation technologies (e.g. lipid delivery systems, amorphous solid dispersions)
  • Provide an assessment of NCE/candidate drug developability
  • Plan and manage lab-based experimental work in accordance with project timelines
  • Keep up to date with the scientific literature and proactively apply existing and novel approaches to projects
  • Contribute to internal and external publications, posters, conference presentations as well as participate in local and global workstreams
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree (BSc/MSc) in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related subject
  • Working knowledge of HPLC, mass spectrometry and other analytical tools (including basic physical characterisation techniques e.g. PSD, XRPD and DSC)
  • Understands physicochemical and solid-state properties and their relationship to drug formulation design and performance
  • Knowledge of biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetic concepts is desirable
