Job Description

Scientific Curator - CambridgeshireOur client, based in the Cambridge area, are looking to hire a talented Scientific Curator to expand their team of experienced Curators.Scientific Curator Role:

  • You will undertake the extraction of extensive datasets from scientific literature and other databases
  • Research and develop vocabularies in new areas of life science
  • Working with multi-disciplined teams to deliver effective projects
  • Write blogs, reports and papers on your findings
  • Deliver presentations at customer meetings and workshops.
  • Demonstrate and train on use of company tools with customers
  • Work on bespoke projects when required for customers.
    • Scientific Curator Required Experience:
  • PhD / MSc educated in a Life Sciences field
  • Experience of building and working with biomedical ontologies
  • Experience curating biological/clinical data with a pharma/drug discovery/life sciences environment
  • Attention to detail is paramount for this role, with excellent interpretation and reading skills necessary to be able to comprehend scientific knowledge from the datasets and literature
  • Prior experience in curation / bio curation is highly advantageous
  • Experience working with biological databases is also preferred.
