Job Description

Sales Manager (Technical)

The BusinessWorking for an award-winning and world-leading manufacturer with specialist capabilities in design, manufacture and testing across many technologies. Our product and market applications include Defence, Space, Communications, Commercial Aerospace and Medicalapplications.The role:
  • Track and maximising sales across the major commercial, defence and space programmes
  • Create, monitor and revises lead generation plans to maximise sales opportunity pipeline
  • Produce reports for analysis; sales order levels, margin levels, call rates, leads, tenders, growth, presentations, etc.
  • Gather valuable market knowledge of our competitors and their products/services
  • Manage assigned territories and customers and deliver ongoing and successful growth
  • Provide market intelligence; business development; sales opportunities; propose and implement marketing strategies.
  • Maintain Customer and Agent relationships; visit and host as necessary in order to conduct and finalise commercial negotiations and requirements - some joint visits with engineering and other relevant departments as relevant
  • Working with Regional Agents, setting appropriate targets to maximise sales and business development opportunities - ensuring all agent agreements are maintained according to company policy
  • Forecasting (monthly, quarterly, yearly rolling format) versus Budget, assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Ensure preparation and submissions of responses to all customer enquiries are completed according to agreed KPIs
  • Where applicable, monitoring of classified and ITAR sensitive information that enters and leaves the S&M function is correctly marked, processed and handled per the prevailing company procedures.
  • Identify & recommend appropriate trade exhibitions, corporate events and seminars within the assigned territory.
  • Maintain sales lead analysis on all territory activities.
  • The UK Sales Manager will deliver full presentations to customers at the highest level
  • This role is likely to consist of a combination of UK and international duties.
  • Contributing to the evolution of the Business Development Road Map.
Role requirements
  • Electronics engineering degree or equivalent qualification
