Job Description

RWE / Epidemiology data scientist, global pharmaceutical company, home based / Cambridge R / python. EHR Your new companyIs a leading global pharmaceutical company looking to bring in several data scientists with experience of real world data, epidemiology or health informatics/health economics to their Real World Evidence department to work on a wide range of studies within oncology.This client has an excellent market reputation and a track record of innovation within this area.Your new roleYou will be joining an established team, leveraging large scale datasets (both internal and external), contributing to the interpretation of analysis, generating tools and models, and helping shape the strategy for the companys drug development portfolio.This is initially a 12 month contract which can be mainly home based with occasional travel to the officeMain responsibilities will include:

  • Provide data analysis expertise to healthcare and clinical / observational / medical record data
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of statistical principles and analysis methods
  • Interpret results and help develop strategy around clinical development
  • Develop and optimise computational tools, methods and models
  • Input into Statistical Analysis Plans
  • Contribute to the design and execution of observational or non-interventional studies
  • Manage computational and RWE projects to support stakeholders in multiple locations
  • Support other Epidemiology and Real World Data activities
  • Promoting Data Science best practice
    • What youll need to succeedAs well as strong communication, problem solving and organisational skills you should have:
  • An MSc, PhD, MPH/MS in epidemiology, statistics, data science, public health or similar - or equivalent experience
  • Hands-on programming skills in R and/or Python, with SAS or similar an advantage
  • A track record working with observational / epidemiology / health outcomes projects
  • Experience with clinical trial / healthcare / electronic medical records
  • Database mining skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Ability to work in a rapid, agile project style environment is required
  • Experience of working with visualization software (eg Shiny, Spotfire, Tableau, Qlik) is a plus
