Job Description

Purchase Ledger AssistantCambridgeUp to £22,500We are looking for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join an organisation in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for someone towards to beginning of their accountancy career, looking for a step up. If you have 6 months experience in finance then wewould love to hear from you.You will work as part of a small team and take on the following responsibilities:

  • Inputting invoices on to the system, ensuring that they are correctly authorised and coded by the relevant manager or budget holder.
  • Making payments of invoices by cheque, bank transfers, BACS and international payment orders.
  • Setting up BACS payment system by inputting suppliers banking data and handling any queries.
  • Sending out remittance advices to suppliers.
  • Filing all invoices regularly and archiving invoices following year-end.
  • Open and sort post for distribution.
  • Liaise with departments and external suppliers regarding invoice queries.
Experience and knowledge
  • Previous experience in a similar purchase ledger or accounts role (ideally 6 months).
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Confident picking up new systems.
  • Good communication and teamworking skills.
  • Ability to work at speed with accuracy.
