Job Description

Are you a psychology graduate interested in joining a national mental health charity who have won awards for being a great employer (investors in people) with work life balance being a key focus (which was underlined by their glass door reviews). The main purpose is supporting people with mental health support needs around employment. This could involve helping them to retain their current job. Here you could be liaising with employers or attending disciplinary meetings. As well as liaising withother professionals such as GPs to facilitate returning to work. You will also be supporting those who are actively seeking work. So you will assess transferable skills, look at career aspirations, help them apply for jobs, prepare for interviews, whilstmanaging existing anxieties about returning to work.Clients could have mild to severe mental health support needs, and can be referred across via GPs, housing providers, IAPT or drug & alcohol services. You will be based in Central Cambridge day to day, but will also visit clients in the surrounding area suchas Ely or Wisbech. Day to day you will typically see between 34 clients. Please apply via this advert. Feel free to call the office and ask for James if you would like to talk more about the role before applying or have any additional questions. The charity are keen to hear from psychology graduates, employment advisors, supportworkers or anyone who has demonstrated an interest in mental health, or who has worked with people with mental health support needs previously. Please note, it is essential that you can drive currently and have access to a car.
