Job Description

H9 Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Project Engineering Manager on a permanent basis, to join an exciting business involved in the Clean Energy sector who have multiple projects planned across the UK. Ideally you will have around 5 yearsexperience and a track record of success managing the delivery of engineering on successful industrial process plant projects, preferably in the waste resource recovery, biogas or energy-from-waste sectors. This role can be home based/ hybrid, with site andproject travel required.Role & Responsibilities Accountable for the delivery of all engineering on UK projects in execution, including the following key responsibilities:

  • Management of the UK project engineering function and team
  • Ensure all UK project engineering is delivered in compliance with all relevant statutory health, safety and environmental requirements
  • Ensure the engineering delivery for all projects is correctly planned before contract signing, particularly in terms of deliverables, resources and timeframes.
  • Ensure that engineering is delivered on all projects according to the agreed plans after contract signing, taking necessary actions to either recover to the agreed plans or amend the plans if needed.
  • Responsibility for compliance with all relevant statutory health, safety and environmental requirements within the UK project engineering team and all of its outputs.
  • Line management of the UK project engineering team in accordance with company procedures and good practice, including ensuring required training is completed and qualifications are maintained.

Skills & QualificationsDegree or similar qualification in an engineering discipline Mechanical / Civil/ ChemicalExpert knowledge of cost control philosophy and methodologies, estimating, change management, and document controls procedures requiredKnowledge of industrial process plant design and have extensive experience managing the engineering delivery for industrial process plant projectsExperience of managing front-end engineering design and project engineering deliveryRead architectural, mechanical and electrical plans and have a solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical control systemsProfessional knowledge of Visio, Excel, Project, Word, SharePoint and PowerPointEffective communication skills (oral & written) in a multi-stakeholder environmentExcellent problem-solving skills, sound judgment, initiative & creativity
