Job Description

Procurement Category ManagerOur client, a world class engineering company is looking for an accomplished Procurement Category Manager to run the procurement of materials and associated products.Overview:Simply, to ensure the acquisition of high-quality materials and services at the best possible price. The successful candidate will be tasked with maintaining a strong relationship with the existing procurement team and company stakeholders as well as assistingin the development of the PO processing software.Day to day duties:

  • Identify and negotiate with suppliers to procure materials
  • Work with the HSEQ department to further develop the companys procurement strategy
  • Ensure materials are available in accordance with forecast usage date
  • Ensure stock values do not exceed group targets
  • Manage Procurement strategy to support the achievement of capital targets
  • Responsible for Purchase Order process
  • Ensure robust controls are maintained and procurement follows agreed policy
  • Ensure processing of non-materials orders in accordance with company policy
  • Supervise, motivate and develop Procurement team to support delivery of objectives
  • Proactively propose improvements to Procurement and Stock Management processes
  • Develop and supply a suite of management reports

  • Able to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
  • Strong negotiation skills
