Job Description

JOB AD:Process Engineering Manager - Near Cambridge Highly competitive salary plus incredible employee benefitsThe Process Engineering Manager is a key technical and leadership role within the business and has responsibility for wafer process development engineers and product engineers. Working in an environment with a mix of high-end R&D, new product introduction,and low volume high quality production, this role is key to ensuring efficient development of next generation productsResponsibilities:Leadership:

  • Ensure all team members have clear goals with aligned deliverables to meet the needs of our customers
  • Ensure robust performance management to ensure ongoing development of the team
  • Drive the skills development programme to ensure teams have the capability, capacity and resilience to deliver on time in a multi project environment
  • Demonstrate core behavioural characteristics and instil collaborative and innovative working across the team to achieve objectives
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, where teams capture and embed learning in design of future processes
  • Lead a "quality first" approach throughout every stage of the product lifecycle
  • Ensure application of proper health and safety working practices, to adhere to company guidelines and best practice
  • Technical:
  • Drive best practice in improvement techniques and structured problem-solving utilising lean six sigma methodology
  • Ensure a data driven approach to improvement, and lead robust statistical process control techniques in all areas
  • Utilise Design for Six sigma/Advanced Product Quality Planning techniques to ensure robust processes and products are developed
  • Drive structured yield improvement within all processes
  • Lead the process development roadmap to ensure that process capability and toolset stays at the forefront of technology and enables the product roadmap
To be considered for this role you will have the following:
  • 10 years of wafer fab experience and at least 3 years in a technical leadership position.
  • Demonstrable application of structured problem-solving techniques
  • Demonstrable experience in implementing and leading lean six sigma techniques and methods
  • Board technical experience in semiconductor process techniques
  • Well-developed team building skills
  • Good knowledge of III-V materials and processing
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant technology area
  • Experience with laser ICs and/or the manufacture of optical devices
