Job Description

You will be responsible for thedelivery of new chemical processes, the successful scale up of manufacturing chemical batches and the qualification of new raw materials. This is a highly versatile role, where you will have the freedom to identify gaps in your skillset, and select specialisttraining to upskill yourself, enabling your ongoing progression. The company is looking for an individual with a passion for synthetic organic chemistry to step into a newly created role for their Chemicals department.The role:

  • Improving the efficiency, robustness and operability of existing product chemistries and processes
  • Developing new chemical processes for the manufacture of polymers and other biocompatible materials
  • Improving understanding of the chemical reactions that occur during the lab and manufacturing processes
  • Designing and carrying out laboratory scale experimental chemistry work to develop manufacturing processes
  • Ensuring new raw materials are assessed for safety and supplier approval
  • Assisting with the ongoing growth of the company through the growth of your own team
The person:
  • Practical experience working with polymers, and organic synthesis
  • Degree or equivalent in a related subject
