Job Description

This is an opportunity to work as part of a growing Printhead Development and Manufacturing team. As an important and integral part of a team of Process Engineers and Manufacturing Technicians, you will develop and productionise new and improved manufacturing processes for printheads. Relocation assistance is also available if you should need it.The Role: * Develop new processes and improve quality, yield, and cost reductions* Investigate new component and assembly architectures, through production and characterisation of proof of concept prototypes* Transition processes from R&D through to production with a focus on yield and quality, using tools including FMEA and DfMA* Monitor yield and quality of production processes and carry out problem-solving on any issues that arise during the manufacturing process* Carefully plan experiments and statistical analysis to produce data-driven process improvements* Hands-on production support, particularly as new processes are validated and refined in production* Prepare SOPs* Provide guidance and leadership to the team of assembly technicians* Hands-on use of a range of manual and automated processing and metrology equipment in a cleanroom environment.About You:* Excellent degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or a related discipline* Experience working in a process development role in an engineering environment such as printhead manufacturing, microfluidic device fabrication or semiconductor processing* Dexterity and skilled in precision manual procedures and handling delicate components* Ability to prepare detailed SOPs* Experienced in data handling and analysis using Excel and statistical analysis packages* Familiarity of working within a lean manufacturing environment* Knowledge of 1-piece flow, Kanban, 5S, & Kaizen would be an advantage* Excellent ability to communicate complex ideas in a straightforward manner and to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels, written and verbally* Effective member of a close team* Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work cross-functionally in a focussed industrial R&D and manufacturing environmentExperience in at least three of the following areas:* Cleanroom processing and fabrication* Photolithography* Vacuum deposition, electroplating and other metallisation processes* Micro-scale moulding and replication* Use of microscopes and other precision measuring equipment* Precision mechanical assembly* Micromachining Start: Immediate Location: CambridgeshireSalary: £NegotiableBenefits: * A generous employer pension contribution* Employee share scheme* Private medical insurance* Profit share* 25 days annual holiday plus bank holidays* Life insurance* Discounts and memberships to local sports facilities and the theatre* Cycle to Work scheme* A comprehensive relocation package is also available, if applicable.If you are interested in this position, feel you have the relevant experience and skills and would like to apply, please call our team on or apply online.
