Job Description

Principal Developer | Medical Biosciences | Cambridgeshire | Up to £66k | PermanentLangham Recruitment are proud to be recruiting for a high-profile genomics institute / life sciences organisation supporting science and governments globally in tackling a range of diseases including Covid-19 and Malaria.Our client is looking for a Principal Developer to join their team. As a Principal Developer you will be focussing on acceleration of the technical delivery of new digital products, through automation and adoption of first-class infrastructure technologies.Why JoinOur client is not only focused on making positive changes in society, but they also have a development plan supporting YOU with your growth.   • Lead, Manage and direct in the development of the organisations GPU and HPC platforms from an administrator and Developer perspective
  • Plan out the technical infrastructure aspects of projects whilst contributing to project management decisions
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure versions of code, firmware and operating systems are up to date, with a clear maintenance road map in place.
  • Create, propose, and develop future road maps
  • Ensure systems are well managed, including backup/recovery processes in place and upgrades scheduled etc.
  • Support current capacity planning with their on-premises infrastructure
  • Mentoring and supporting other members of the team
Skills/Experience Required:
  • Proven experience of implanting GPU acceleration and AI solutions
  • Experienced and comfortable in assisting, mentoring and coaching other team members
  • Excellent soft skills with experience dealing with a range of stakeholders
  • Significant experience in scripting languages eg. Python, Java, Bash
  • Experience of DevOps and Agile principles
  • A clear understanding of HPC and Unix systems at scale
  • good working knowledge of cloud architecture
  • Experience in optimising applications in one or more of the following: Python, Java, Bash or Ruby.
  • Experience of web services development especially using REST APIs
