Job Description

Job Profile for Principal Designer (Cambridge) - LF267946Our client a specialist surveying consultancy are looking for a Principal Designer to join their growing company based from their Cambridge office. They are a specialist in providing building surveying services, academy surveying, funding and estates planningto their education clients nationwide. The Principal Designer will be operating as a key member of the team as they will be the main contact between clients, designers and contractors in regards to health and safety issues. They will be ensuring health andsafety compliance and that CDM regulations are met.Principal Designer (Cambridge) Position Overview

  • Liaising and communicating with clients, contractors, Building Surveyors and others and to offer advice and guidance on CDM/health and safety issues;
  • Assisting with the preparation of health and safety/CDM documentation for contractors, clients and others such as Health and Safety Files
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and to keep them informed of issues on your projects, at all times.
  • Attending pre-contract, and other site meetings and carry out independent H&S site audits / inspections
  • Project Management duties
Principal Designer (Cambridge) Position Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years experience within a similar role
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent/higher
  • Relevant HNC, HND, BSc or MSc (or equivalent) in a construction-related topic
  • Good knowledge and understanding of appropriate legislation
  • Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Living within commuting distance of Cambridge
  • Happy to travel as required
