We have an urgent vacancy for a Polymer Chemist / Chemical Engineer / Materials Scientist to join a Cambridge based team, spun out of the University. The company are working on some very exciting solar energy technology and their labs are based in Cambridge Universitys prestigious Graphene and Nanoscience labs.This is an outstanding opportunity for an expert in plastics and polymers to join this exciting company at an early stage and get involved with the clean energy sector. Get in touch ASAP for a confidential chat!About You:* PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field* Proven track record of hands-on scientific excellence* Experience in Polymer Engineering, especially with respect to environmental durability* / accelerated ageing* Good understanding of nanostructured materials* Experience in nano-composite manufacture from melt and / or solution, making homogeneous nanoparticle dispersions in polymers* Experience processing different polymer matrix materials for more homogeneously dispersed nanoparticles using fluid dynamics, viscosities and shear force considerations* Experience in a variety of deposition methods of polymers to achieve thin and thick films, free-standing and on a substrate (e.g. spray coating, doctor blading, microextrusion, etc.)* Extensive experience on scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and UV-Vis of nanocomposite films* Self-motivated and able to work as part of a small, interdisciplinary team of scientifically competitive people* Excited about coming up with new concepts and building prototypes with strong scientific curiosity and keen to tackle difficult problems* Permission to work in the UKStart: Immediate Location: Cambridge, UKSalary: £NegotiableBenefits: Share options, Flexible workingIf you are interested in this position, feel you have the relevant experience and skills and would like to apply, please call our team on or apply online.
