A rare opportunity has arisen to manage the Anti-Corruption Unit within the Counter Corruption Command / BCH Professional Standards Department. The successful candidate will be required to manage a team of 1 x Detective Sergeant, 6 X DCS, 2 X IOs and 1 x admin officer. Working alongside and closely with the other managers from within the CCU namely analytical/prevent/vetting. The post requires excellent communication skills and organisational ability to develop and maintain close working relationships with partner agencies in particular ERSOU, NCA the IOPC and colleagues across the BCH. Due to the nature of the work we undertake there is a higher level of scrutiny and reporting. The successful applicant will be expected to support meetings at a Regional and occasionally National Level and will provide specialist advice and guidance on legislation, policy and covert tactical options to maximise legal compliance and assistance to PSD investigations. It is essential that the successful applicant has the ability to manage a high work load often at a fast pace, display the highest levels of integrity, have a good eye for detail and a flexible approach. Due to the investment required to provide the successful candidate with the appropriate training there is an expectancy of a 3 years return within the department. There is a requirement to be on the on-call rota once trained. The post holder must hold a full UK Drivers Licence as although based at Chord park, Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire there is a need to travel around the BCH. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting (5 years residency criteria) and Security Clearance (5 years residency criteria) before taking up the post. Please be aware the Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined. You will be expected to provide written evidence around the following competencies and the minimum entry requirements from the role profile:
