Our leading client in Cambridge is looking for an OH Nurse.The role is a 6 - 9 month Fixed Term Contract, and Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8.00am-4.00pm.The role encompasses health surveillance, safety critical medicals, treatments and general health promotion and wellbeing activities.Provide a full OH/Treatment service in line with the client contract including consultation, clinical assessment & treatment, advice, education, medical assessments and D&A testing where appropriate and in accordance with patient group directives and departmental protocols.Provide professional advice, support and guidance to the client and wider multidisciplinary team.Assess clients presenting to Occupational Health providing sound clinical advice and treatment.Assess clients fitness to work for the appropriate job role in line with policies and guidelines and issue appropriate fitness certificates.Write letters to GP/Specialists in line with the Access to Medical Reports Act and Data Protection Act.Provide clinical assessment of clients presenting with minor illness and injury.Maintain appropriate records in line with departmental protocols on record keeping.Provide health surveillance in accordance with current legislation and in line with policies and guidelines.Provide clinical support to the first aid provision on site.Assist in the provision of health promotion and wellbeing on site.Maintain valid and up to date registration with the NMC and comply with NMC guidelines in relation to professional issues and clinical supervisionMaintain working knowledge of and procedures and adopt these accordinglyMaintain a flexible approach to the role according to professional and service needs.Essential SkillsRegistered general nurse or qualification in adult nursingDriving licenseGood clinical knowledge and expertise for interpretation of health screening / surveillance resultsKnowledge of health and safety legislationGood PC/ IT skillsAdministrative skillsExcellent clinical skills, including suturing and cannulationGood verbal and written communication skillsGood judgement and decision-making skillsPresentation skills - for delivery of group health promotion initiatives, health and safety meetings etc.Motivation and ability to work effectively individually and as part of a teamGood time keeping skillsAbility to organise work demands and priorities to achieve goalsDesired SkillsSpeciality qualification in OH.Experience of developing and implementing health care initiativesCorporate OH experienceA&E experienceExperience of conducting pre-placement assessments and reviewsExperience of producing own reports administrative activities and arranging own appointments.
