Job Description

Nursey PractitionerAn exciting position has become available for a full-time Nursey Practitioner based in Cambridge. The successful candidate will earn £18-£22k depending on experience.Role RequirementsEssential

  • Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Early years Qualification
  • Appropriate child protection training.
  • Ability to deliver excellent quality care for children 0-5 years.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team effectively
  • Knowledge of child protection, EYFS and OFSTED regulations and Health & Safety issues.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the implementation of equal opportunities
  • Understanding the varied needs of children and their families
  • Ability to work on own initiative, use good judgement and common sense.
  • Reliable, responsible with a caring and friendly personality
  • Ability to be patient and show empathy with all children and make informed decisions
  • Reliable, responsible with a caring and friendly personality
  • Ability to communicate and listen to children, understand child behaviour and care
  • Ability to be efficient, expressive and creative
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly
  • Ability to be organised and practical

  • Computer Literate
Desirable
  • Early Years qualification
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Competence in the use of ICT and common software packages e.g. Word, Excel
Role Responsibilities (not limited to)
  • To assist and support the teachers and key workers in their duties.
  • To teach all areas of the foundation stage, which is focused on helping the children to achieve early learning goals.
  • Motivating and stimulating the childrens learning abilities, often encouraging learning through experience.
  • Providing pastoral care and support to children and providing them with a secure environment to learn.
  • Devising and producing visual aids and teaching resources.
  • Organising learning materials and resources and making imaginative use of resources;
  • Assisting with the development of childrens personal/social and language abilities.
  • Supporting the development of childrens basic skills, including physical coordination, speech and communication.
  • Encouraging childrens mathematical and creative development through stories, songs, games, drawing and imaginative play.
  • Developing childrens curiosity and knowledge.
  • Respect confidentiality within the setting.
  • Comply with Health and Safety regulations
  • To carry out any ad hoc projects or additional duties as requested by the Supervisor or Manager.
  • To be involved and assist the nursery team in providing a friendly, caring, stimulating, creative and relaxing environment in order to encourage and develop children in your care.
