Job Description

OVERVIEW:The candidate will have a solid background in molecular biology assay development, including NGS library preparation and execution of DNA sequencing experiments, and will have a keen interest in cutting edge sequencing technologies.Qualifications & Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s or advanced degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, biotechnology or a similar subject is required, with a minimum of one-year laboratory experience.
  • Experience in performing, designing and executing experiments such as nucleic acid isolation and purification, next generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation, DNA/RNA sequencing and QC
  • High accuracy and attention to the details is a must for both laboratory and office-based work.
  • Collaborate with a team of other scientists to optimize sequencing protocols and automation of laboratory procedures.
  • Work closely with team members to analyse sequencing results, support troubleshooting efforts and resolve issues of increasing complexity.
  • Ensure maintenance of laboratory instrumentation.
  • Experience within a contract research organization, university core facility or clinical laboratory is advantageous.
  • Experience of working within an ISO17025 environment is advantageous.
  • Fluent in English (Required)
  • Fluent in Mandarin (Preferred)
  • The flexibility of working on weekends (Preferred)
  • Must have the right to work in the UK (Preferred)
