Job Description

Senior Associate Medical Negligence Solicitor opportunity. Leading, Legal 500 recognised department based in Cambridge. Excellent progression opportunity to Salaried Partnership. The FirmOur client is a highly reputable practice with multiple Legal 500 ranked departments firm-wide.The firms Medical Negligence department are one of the longest-standing and most highly respected Medical Negligence practices in the East of England.This Legal 500 Top Tier department is seeking a Medical Negligence Solicitor at Senior Associate level to join their expanding team, working closely alongside Partners and Senior Management on operational and strategic decisions, in addition to fee-earning.The OpportunityThe successful Medical Negligence Solicitor will work alongside some of the UKs leading experts on varied and complex cases.In addition to strategic responsibilities, the firms new hire will be responsible for handling a varied, high quality caseload.

  • Acting for Claimants in complex medical negligence cases and Inquests
  • Advising clients of funding options; identifying and liaising with appropriate experts and Counsel; advising clients on merits and quantum; advising on procedure and alternative dispute resolution processes
  • Undertaking advocacy, when cost effective, at interlocutory stages
  • Working on some high profile cases which may have a higher level of economic, political, and/or social impact or risk for the firm
  • Considering and identifying clients needs, for example, access to rehabilitation, the need for financial advice, Wills, Powers of Attorneys, and pre/post Nuptial agreements
  • Providing advice on complex matters to other members of the team in relation to Medical Negligence issues that require sign off or specialist knowledge
  • Developing, mentoring, and supporting junior members of the team

Requirements
  • Experience commensurate to that of 8 years + PQE
  • Experience managing varied and complex Medical Negligence cases
