Job Description

Mechanical Fitter - CambridgeOur client, a growing Engineering business in the Cambridge area, are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Fitter. This is a rare opportunity to work in a high precision environment working on complex machinery.Mechanical Fitter Job Role:* Possess experience in a machine shop environment, preferably within an instrument making/tool room background* Have experience in vacuum fitting and helium leak detection* Practical knowledge of basic sheet metal work and be competent with soldering/brazing* Able to work from detailed assembly and component drawings* Inspect mechanical components for dimensional accuracy as and when required* Willing to undertake any relevant training* Possess knowledge of QC procedures and be able to follow them* Be aware of any safety requirements relevant to the job role* Assist with the maintenance of factory equipment and buildingsCandidate Requirements:* Prior experience as a mechanical fitter* Manual skills, such as using manual mills and lathes* Experience of fitting and accurate measuring* Able to learn new skills and follow procedures* Methodical and meticulous approach to designated tasks* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal* "Can do" attitude and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the business* Desire to maintain and promote a safe, clean, tidy and amicable working environment* Motivated, self-starterThis is an exciting opportunity to join a well-respected company, and as such the remuneration package is excellent.
