Job Description

Mechanical Engineer - Microfluidics - CambridgeI am working with an early-stage biotech company that are looking to significantly expand their Mechanical Engineering team, with an emphasis on product development for their proprietary products.Mechanical Engineer role:* Responsible for component and sub-system design* Working within a multi-disciplinary team to develop concepts against requirements that are not yet defined* Developing test rigs that will refine the requirements and solutions* Be responsible for owning designs/assemblies throughout the entire development process* Working on multiple experimental projects at any one timeAreas you will be working on as a Mechanical Engineer:* Thermal Fluid Management* Microfluidics* Bulk Fluidics* Mechatronics* Mechanism Design* DFM/DFAMechanical Engineer requirements:Essential attributes:* Demonstrating expertise and industry experience in one of the key areas below:-Thermal Fluid Management-Microfluidics-Bulk Fluidics-Mechatronics-Mechanism Design-DFM/DFA* Experienced in producing engineering designs and drawings for manufacturing* Knowledge of a range of manufacturing methods at component level* Excellent 3D CAD experience, ideally with SolidWorks* Strong background in Maths and PhysicsDesirable attributes:* Experience of working within ISO13485, or a similar QMS* Background working in life sciences/scientific instrumentation/diagnostic devices* Experience of taking a product through its entire development cycleThis is an excellent opportunity to join an early-stage company that have a revolutionary product line, and this represents a chance to join an exciting phase of product development.
