Job Description

This role would suit a high-calibre Mechanical Engineer who is driven by innovation and wants to be involved in a fast-paced product development environment. The remit extends from initial concept through to introduction into manufacturing and the early stages of product support.Mechanical Engineer responsibilities:

  • Supporting the development of new medical devices, from early stage product concepts to ready for clinical trial products.* Providing input to technical reports and design documentation.* Procuring prototype parts such as rapid prototyping and machining.* Carrying out diligent laboratory testing.* Providing input into the development of mathematical models of system or component parts.* Supporting technical analysis of mechanical systems, such as tolerance analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
  • Mechanical Engineer requirements:
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an engineering subject* Demonstrable industry experience in a similar capacity* 3D CAD experience - ideally Solidworks, to create numerous complex components and assemblies* Knowledge of Rapid Prototyping techniques* Experience of analytical engineering analysis and a range of engineering processes.* Familiar with FMEA and DFMA
